Pan button image Map Scale

This will update the scale to the number entered. This is useful when printing the map. If you enter 63360, 1 mile on the map should equal one inch on paper when the map is printed.

Example: You may want 1 inch to equal 4 miles. To calculate, multiply the ratios(fractions) to cancel the units. This gives the
1 inch / 4 miles * 1 foot / 12 inches * 1 mile / 5280 feet = 1/253440.
All units cancel giving a scale of 1 : 253440. When the map is printed from the pdf that is created, there should be 4 miles in every inch.
